SEC stewarding and security

by Mark Rowe

After a competitive procurement process, the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow reports a new stewarding and security model across its three venues. G4S will continue to provide stewarding and security services for the SEC Centre and SEC Armadillo; while SecuriGroup (SGL) becomes the new stewarding and security services provider for the OVO Hydro.

The SEC, marking its 40th anniversary, says this dual-partner approach allows it to apply greater venue-specific expertise across its estate, which sees live entertainment, conferences and exhibitions.

Colin Hartley, Director of Operations at the SEC, said: “The safety, security and comfort of our visitors, clients and colleagues is absolutely paramount. As we enter our 40th year, these values remain at the heart of our business and our ambitions for the future. We’re incredibly pleased to be continuing our valued partnership with G4S, whose professionalism and commitment has supported our operations for many years. At the same time, we’re excited to welcome SGL to the SEC family. Their expertise and fresh perspective will further enhance the experience we deliver, particularly at the OVO Hydro, which continues to attract some of the biggest live acts on the planet.”

Chris Burr, Managing Director, G4S Events, added: “We are proud to be extending our long-standing relationship with the SEC and look forward to playing a continued role in supporting its reputation for world-class events. Our team takes great pride in keeping people safe and helping ensure every visitor’s experience is a positive one.”

And John Gallacher, Operations Director at Glasgow-based SecuriGroup, said: “It’s a privilege to be joining the SEC community in such a landmark year. The OVO Hydro is an iconic venue, and we’re excited to contribute to its continued success by providing the highest standards in safety, security and customer service.”
