Skills for Security, the UK provider of fire and security apprenticeships, has announced a new sponsorship partnership with Fike, the fire suppression, explosion protection, and pressure relief product company. As featured in the July edition of Professional Security Magazine, pictured, Skills aims at meeting the growing demand for skilled professionals in the life safety and security sectors. It says Fike’s involvement will bring industry insight, technical expertise, and access to latest technology.

David Scott, Managing Director at Skills for Security, said: “Fike’s support is a strong endorsement of the quality and relevance of our training programmes. Their expertise will help us continue to raise standards in life safety education and ensure our learners are fully prepared for the challenges of the modern fire and security industry.”

Fike will contribute to curriculum development, provide access to case studies and technologies, and engage with learners through guest sessions and industry visits. The collaboration is designed to offer apprentices insight into the systems and standards shaping safety-critical environments.

Colin Smith, Fire Manager Europe at Fike, said: “At Fike, we believe safety starts with education. Partnering with Skills for Security is a meaningful way for us to help build a stronger, more knowledgeable workforce for the future. We’re proud to support the next generation of professionals who will be responsible for using life safety technology to protect lives and assets.”

Skills for Security adds that its wider mission is to address the skills shortage across the fire and security sectors by expanding access to employer-led training. With Fike on board, apprentices will benefit from a blend of theoretical knowledge with practical experience, Skills adds.
